The Wanderer in the Cave

If you have ever been lost in a place that you have never been to you may have felt what Bilbo was feeling when he was in the cave. Bilbo woke up in a dark, cold, cave with no idea where he was. While in the cave, Bilbo found a gold ring sitting on the ground. Also, Bilbo saw a creature named Gollum. Gollum was a small slimy creature who was as dark as darkness, except for two big round pale eyes on his thin face (79). Bilbo was desperate to leave this dark, mysterious place so Gollum agreed to let Bilbo out of the cave if Bilbo beat him in a game of guessing the answers to riddles they exchanged. Bilbo won but Gollum wouldn’t lead him. Bilbo put the ring on and Gollum started chasing Bilbo when Bilbo tripped and fell. Bilbo thought for sure that he was done for but when Gollum came, he did not see Mr. Baggins. Bilbo was shocked so he started to stalk Gollum and overheard him say that the ring was magic. Bilbo then got to the part where the goblins were based and jumped over Gollum’s head into the passageway. Bilbo was invisible but the goblins could still see his shadows. They saw him try to sneak out and quickly closed the big stone door that was the way out. It was too late for the goblins though. Bilbo had already squeezed through the door although losing some of the buttons from his waistcoat. Bilbo then wandered down to the valley and found Gandalf and the thirteen dwarves. What an amazing way that Tolkien expressed Bilbo getting out of that cave!
You did a great job explaining it. I loved your word choice: desperate; squeezed; dark mysterious place. I would love you to use fresh modifiers like that EVERYWHERE! Ah, but I am greedy like Gollum! Good work! Mrs. Best
